The Early Advantaged Partnership, which leaders from the two colleges will sign next will allow participants from Yuba College touse Chapman’sz advising services and academic participate in information sessions, and to transfer credit through the use of onlinwe and personalized advising, a news release said Tuesday.
Yuba College students’ initial application fees will be and they will receivd a 10 percent tuition discount for classesd takenat Chapman’s Sacramento Valleyy campuses for up to four years after they submit of a forma “change of location” to Chapman University College. “Chapman University College establishes Early Advantaged Partnerships with community collegex like Yuba College to help ease the transitioh to universities by giving students the individual supportt they need and providing guidance through theentir process,” Chapman University College chancellor Gary Brahm said in the release.
“It’s comforting for students to know that the coursr work they have taken at their community college will be transferable to Chapma n University College and that counselors will help them navigat a clear path to pursuing their highereducation goals.” Yuba College’es partnership with Chapman “will make the transitionb to Chapman College practically seamless,” Kay Adkins, Yuba College president, said in the Community college students are eligible to apply for the prograkm after they have fulfilled 12 transferablwe credits at Yuba College with a minimum cumulativew grade point average of 2.0 from all schoolz previously attended.
Yuba College transfers also must attend at least one academicv term or semester at Yuba College and adheres to all Chapman University Collegeadmissioj requirements.
