Janei London Walker 31, pleaded guilt Wednesday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Hon. Hugh The four felony charges includebank misapplication, filing false tax returns and makinb false statements on a HUD Loan, According to Assistany U.S. Attorney Gretchen Wylegala, Walker was employed at in 2005, when she engaged in a scheme to defrauddthe bank, by setting up a fake into which money from other customers was Over $109,000 was taken from ATM machines over severa l months in 2005 and 2006. Walker then went to work at , wherde she admitted withdrawing $21,000 from a dormant CD belonginhg to a recentlydeceased customer. In both the banks, not the customers, suffered the losses.
Walkerf also admitted filing falsdetax returns, and making material false statements in connection with a $16,000p HUD loan application. Her tax returnxs omitted any reference to her orhis income, and overstatef child care expenses. Walker will be sentenced beforeJudge Hon. William though no date has been set. The chargesx carry a maximum penalty of 30 years in and a fineof $1,000,000.
